I’m Charlotte, a running coach based in Oswestry, Shropshire, and I work with people who want to run without feeling judged, rushed, or under pressure.
I didn’t grow up loving running. In fact, I spent most of my teenage years avoiding PE and assuming that “real runners” were the fast ones at the front. For a long time, I believed that if you weren’t chasing times, distances, or medals, you were somehow doing it wrong.
When I did start running as an adult, that mindset followed me. I signed up for races, trained hard, compared myself to everyone else, and felt disappointed when I didn’t hit goals I’d made up without much thought. Running became something I dipped in and out of — intense bursts of motivation followed by long gaps where I stopped altogether because it all felt too hard.
That changed when I moved to Oswestry in 2021.
Surrounded by hills, lanes, and countryside across North Shropshire and the surrounding villages, I started running simply to be outside. I paid more attention to the views than the pace on my watch. I stopped worrying about how far I was going or how fast anyone else might be. And, without really trying, I began to enjoy running for the first time.
Because I enjoyed it, I kept going.
I joined a local running club and later trained as a coach, qualifying as an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness in 2025. Along the way, I realised something important: most running coaching is designed for people who want to push harder, get faster, and race more.
That wasn’t what I wanted — and it’s not what many runners are looking for either.
I wanted structure without pressure. Guidance without judgement. Support that worked around real life — work, family, energy levels, and changing seasons. So I created Unhurried Running to offer exactly that.
My coaching is for people who want to build a steady, sustainable relationship with running. There’s no expectation to race, no obsession with pace, and no “you should be doing more”. Progress still happens — it just happens quietly, consistently, and in a way that feels manageable.
Whether you’re starting again after a break, building confidence, or simply want running to feel easier and more enjoyable, you’re welcome here.
You don’t need to earn the title of runner.
If you run — you already are one.
